ETSYCREST Goes to the Mother Ship (ETSY NYC)

By Jenn from CraftyStitches

What a great trip!  What can I say?  Don’t know where to start….  First let me start with a great THANK YOU to the ETSY NYC mother ship to allow us to prance in and visit the digs!  Especially Cheyne for hosting and entertaining us.  We met Brittney, Morgan, Kimm, Julie, and all the other names I missed… pls forgive me I didn’t get all the cards.
Linda (The Twisted Cow), Deb (a.w.e jewelry) and Jenn (CraftyStitches) visited “THE MOTHER SHIP” Etsy NYC.  We had a blast!

We talked, exchanged ideas and shared all our challenges as sellers on Etsy. A few things we really dug deep on are …

STATS yep.. (that was me; my thing) and the coming soon Credit Card feature.  We are excited about the new and upcoming changes at ETSY.  We are looking forward to more features as they roll out new stuff for us to dig in.

We saw the beautiful loft offices that they moved into in the DUMBO district under the Brooklyn bridge.  The office is large and occupies 4 floors.  No cubes here… just open desks and tables.  We were in the SECRET ROOM conference room where we chatted the most about our exciting stuff.  We talked a lot about our workshops and craft shows.  We completed a team interview video that they will show at a scheduled time soon.  So look out for it on the ETSY TEAM page.  We enjoyed lunch with the ETSY gang and left with our goody bags from ETSY.

We later went into the fashion and garment district looking for textiles and fun supplies.  Of course we had to visit MOOD and in deed it is WALL TO WALL; FLOOR TO FLOOR of supplies that would make you droooooolllll like a puppy.

Looking forward to our upcoming, exciting trips.  I hope many of you can join us next time.  Check out our pics at FLICKR

I’m so excited about our team this year. I hope to bring lots of great selling events, learning opportunities, and collaborations with our team members. My theme for 2012 is THINK BIG!

Linda Gordon- Co-chair
Miss Flossie & Lulu, The Twisted Cow

Hi CRESTERs!!!!! Linda Gordon here and I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve as your CREST Board Co-Chair. In addition to my service on the CREST Board, I have two shops on Etsy Miss Flossie & Lulu (supplies) and The Twisted Cow (for pets and the folks that love them).

Angie Barrett- Membership Officer
Suds ‘N’ Such

My name is Angie and I run Angie's Suds 'N Such, a place for high quality skin care at affordable prices. I'm very excited to be the new membership officer and assist & recruit new team members!

Meg Murray- Communications Officer
Red & Main

As owner of Red & Main, I create hand-sculpted, kiln-fired ceramic critter sculptures, mythical beasts, and ferocious monsters made with love. I will serve as the new Communications Officer for Etsy CREST, and I’m stoked to start interacting with each and every CREST member. Be on the look-out for posts and emails from me- they will probably contain important news from the CREST board and information about local CREST events.

Elizabeth Blair-Nussbaum- Secretary
EBN Art Studio

My name is Elizabeth and I'm the owner of EBN Art Studio, which features my contemporary paintings and prints. I can’t wait to help CREST rise to the top as one of the leading local organizations! As secretary, I will help organize all CREST-related information and data like meeting notes and surveys.

Jesse Amaryllis Tyler - Events Officer
Everything Zen Jewelry

Hi everyone! I'm Jesse from Everything Zen Jewelry. Along with Christina of SmokingHaute, I will be contributing to the CREST Board as an Events Officer. As a local craftsperson, I look forward to working with like-minded Artisans/Small Business owners to bolster CREST's presence in the community.

Christina Floriza - Events Officer
SmokingHaute

Hi everyone! My name is Christina and I own SmokingHaute, an Etsy shop for modern, sculptural handmade knitted accessories inspired by Washington, DC. I am THRILLED to serve as Events Officer on the CREST Board with Jesse Tyler! I cannot wait to work with you all and throw events as awesome as this city and this team!!

Deb Soromenho- Web Officer

Hi, I’m Deb! I make sterling, copper, and bronze jewelry that is inspired by the shapes, textures, and cultures of the world! I’m excited to serve as the CREST web officer and am looking forward to expanding our online presence and getting everyone more involved in our various online venues!

Beth Hess – Web Officer
Wunder Around

Greetings! I’m a glassblower who loves to take photos, explore the world around me and make stuff. You can find me on Etsy at WunderAround and PollyScoots. I’m excited to be a part of CREST and look forwarding to working with you to help spread the word about our team and our members’ awesomeness all over the internet.
